Welcome to Westport North School!
Westport North School is a Decile 4 state funded school catering for Years 1 - 8. We are situated adjacent to Buller High School and within walking distance to two local early childhood providers and the Solid Energy Center - one of Westport's premier sporting facilities. Our school has large playing fields and a rural outlook on to the Westport Racecourse and Orowaiti Lagoon.
Our school has worked with our local community to develop a school curriculum that reflects the aspirations of our parents and whanau. This is described in our Curriculum Compass. Our North Star provides the descriptor of what we are aiming towards with our students when they leave us as Year 8 students and our North Navigator is the representation of our North School Learner.
In 2011 our school began the first bilingual classroom in the Buller. This has now grown to include a second class with a view to establishing a third early in 2013. Our bilingual environment caters for students from Years 1-8.
Our school enjoys strong community support and we have an active Parent Group and a newly established Whanau Group. You can read more about them on this website.

Westport South School are currently putting an enrolment scheme in place. This does NOT affect Westport North School at all and we welcome enrolments from any part of the town or surrounds.
