Nau mai, haere mai!

Welcome to Westport North School!

Westport North School is a U4 state funded school catering for Years 1 - 8. We are situated adjacent to Buller High School and within walking distance to two local early childhood providers and the Pulse Energy Centre - one of Westport's premier sporting facilities. Our school has large playing fields and a rural outlook on to the Westport Racecourse and Orowaiti Lagoon.

Our school has worked with our local community to develop a school curriculum that reflects the aspirations of our parents and whanau.  This is described in our Curriculum Compass. Our North Star provides the descriptor of what we are aiming towards with our students when they leave us as Year 8 students and our North Navigator is the representation of our North School Learner.

In 2011 our school began the first bilingual classroom in the Buller. Our dual medium classroom caters for students from Years 1-8.

In 2014 our school began a Sports Academy Class for students in Years 5-8.

Our school enjoys strong community support and we have an active group known as Friends of North School. You can read more about them on this website.

We welcome enrolments at any time throughout the year. Simply contact the Office and arrange a time to call in to see us and we will happily show you around.
